Get involved

We are not asking you to pick a side. Here is how voters, civic leaders, radio stations, and candidates can each help Texans hear directly from the people asking for their vote.

For voters

Every Texan is represented by one state House member and one state senator. Those are the two seats that decide whether the Trust Texans Initiative reaches the ballot.

Find your representatives and ask them to take the pledge

Enter your address once and we name everyone on your ballot for the Texas House and Senate, show what each of them has said so far, and write the email for you. You pick the issues and press send from your own account.

A constituent email carries more weight than anything we could send. If your representative is still in the Undecided column, they have not heard from enough people yet.

Read the ten line items

These are the concerns that keep surfacing in statewide polling and reporting, year after year. They are the reference list this whole effort is built on, and every candidate in a radio debate picks five of them to speak on. Read the ten line items.

Send this site to a neighbor, a friend, or someone in your family, and point them to the representative lookup. The more Texans who ask, the fewer names stay undecided.

For civic leaders

Civic credibility is hard to build and easy to spend.

We are not asking you to endorse a candidate or a party. We are asking you to champion a process: honest, unedited candidate speech, and a Legislature that is on record before it votes.

What champions get behind

  • A genuinely nonpartisan structure. No side is asked to concede anything. Every candidate gets the same five minutes, the same rules, and the same closing question.
  • A concrete, specific reform. The Trust Texans Initiative is an actual joint resolution to restore statewide initiative and referendum rights, with real signature thresholds, fiscal review, and an Ethics Commission disclosure requirement already written into it.
  • Full transparency on who we are. Texas Stands Together operates as a DBA of Temple Stands Together, a Texas nonprofit corporation with a 501(c)(4) application pending with the IRS. We are funded by individual Texans, not corporations, businesses, or corporate PACs. Read who we are.

What we are asking

  • Add your name publicly as a founding civic supporter of Texas Stands Together.
  • Help us reach candidates and sitting legislators in your community, so they take part in the radio debates and respond to the Trust Texans pledge.
  • Tell people it exists. A known local voice carries more weight than any ad we could afford to run.

For radio stations

Local radio has always been where Texans go to hear their own community talk about what matters to it. We are asking each participating station to host one Line Item Radio Debate per contested state race in its market, and we supply the structure, the equal time language, and the on air disclaimer.

For candidates and legislators

Accept the radio challenge

If you are running for a Texas House or Senate seat, you can take the format as it stands: your top five line items, five uninterrupted minutes each, aired unedited and in full. Declining is also on the record. We will note that an invitation went out on equal terms.

Put your answer on the record

One line, in writing or on tape, settles it: will you vote yes on the joint resolution restoring initiative and referendum rights in Texas.

Answer either way and we will post it with the date and the link. We are not asking you to concede anything to the other party. We are asking you to be on record before the vote, not after.

Start with the two people who represent you

Every seat starts undecided. The only thing that moves a name off that list is a legislator willing to say where they stand.
